Characteristics of Electrostatic Coating

Electrostatic coating equipment has the characteristics of high spraying efficiency, uniform coating and less pollution, and is suitable for large-scale automatic coating production line. It has gradually become one of the most widely used coating processes in production. It has been applied to automobiles, instruments, electrical appliances, agricultural machinery, household appliances, daily hardware, steel furniture, doors and windows, and electricity. 1. The utilization ratio of coatings has been greatly improved. The utilization ratio of coatings is only about (30-60)% when air spraying is used. If the workpiece is porous network structure, the utilization ratio of coatings is below 30%. Using electrostatic coating, the coatings particles are adsorbed to the workpiece surface by the electric field force, which reduces the dispersion and rebound remarkably, and the utilization ratio of coatings is empty. Air spraying can be increased by 1 to 2 times.



2. Improve labor productivity. The electrostatic painting pipeline is suitable for mass production. It can realize simultaneous spraying of multiple spraying guns, and is easy to realize automatic flow-line operation. The production efficiency is 1-3 times higher than that of air spraying, and the efficiency of disc electrostatic painting is higher.



3. To improve the quality of coating products, charged coating particles are deposited by electric field on the workpiece, which will produce embracing effect according to the distribution of power lines. By adjusting the configuration of spraying gun and spraying parameters, uniform, smooth and plump coating can be obtained to achieve the purpose of high decoration.



4. Significantly improve the painting working environment, less dispersed paint fog generated by electrostatic painting, and carried out in the spray room, which is conducive to environmental protection and improvement of working conditions.



5. Because of the tip effect of electrostatic field, the anti-concave part will be shielded by electric field, resulting in thinner coating. Therefore, it is generally necessary to set up a manual repairing station to make up for the defects. For non-conducting workpieces such as plastics, wood, rubber and glass, electrostatic spraying can be carried out only after special surface pretreatment.



6. There is a danger of fire caused by high-voltage spark discharge in electrostatic painting. When the workpiece sways or the distance between poles is too close due to misoperation, it will cause fire. Therefore, it is very important to install safety fire extinguishing device in electrostatic spraying room.



7. Electrostatic coating has certain requirements on the electrical properties of the coating and is vulnerable to the influence of environmental humidity.
